There's an area in the Glitch World that makes them hallucinate and the hallucinations often involve kinda their deepest fears and stuff. Clair finds this out the hard way.

Clair has always had a complex about seeming to be emotionless and strong but this becomes almost an obsession in Act Three. Because everyone is having a crisis a day and she's trying to resolve them all and she's constantly in danger so that's a ton of stress and she's also a little ehhhhh about what is and isn't real (that's a big thing in this act). She's also particularly afraid for Drake's life pretty much the whole time because when you have a really depressed kid living with a really horrible dude there is a lot that can go wrong and stuff. She eventually has a freak out one day while she is with Drake and lucky for her he is in a good enough mood that he can deal with it and calm her down.

Act three might as well be called "Drink every time 1. Someone has a nervous breakdown 2. There's weird body horror shit 3. Someone says "I feel like I'm losing my mind" or something similar or 4. Someone starts screaming bloody murder.

Clearly this plotline is a bucket of laughs/
